Located in the heart of downtown, the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center is a gathering place designed to showcase a world of arts and culture. This beautiful facility promises a rich and diverse season of entertainment, featuring music, comedy, theater and dance performances. This complex reflects the city’s rich tradition of family, community and pride and is one of the most comprehensive arts and convention centers in the state of Iowa, featuring a state of the art Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts, expo hall, flexible meeting room space, art gallery and commercial kitchen, providing a sophisticated backdrop for meetings and performances.
The Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts, named for renowned musical theater composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim, is home to Way Off Broadway, Iowa’s only professional musical theater company. The Center is also the backdrop for the Fairfield Concert Association, Chamber Music Society Fairfield, The Fairfield Area Community Theater as well as local and regional dance and music performances.

Beyond a steep flight of stairs lies a set of rooms equipped for salsa classes, political gatherings, yoga classes, and performing artists. The studio acts as meeting grounds where you can come to show off your creative abilities or enjoy the talents of others. They are open for every 1st Fridays Art Walk, displaying local and out of town artists. Come and shine at Morning Star Studios.
Revelations is an intimate venue, where you can experience some good live entertainment or spend hours grazing their extensive book collection. They showcase anything from poetry readings to blue grass folk sounds, to interesting lectures. The atmosphere has a cozy feel, combining bookstore, pizzeria, and coffeehouse. Sip on a soothing steamer and enjoy the refuge of your favorite authors, while listening to the sounds of local musicians.
If you enjoy sitting outside on a beautiful summers evening, on the quaint square in Fairfield Iowa, then come join us for a seasonal concert series. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and dancing shoes. The range of entertainment is broad; from Irish folk dancing to Latin salsa and everything in between. The concerts begin in June and run until September.
